NORMA ELDEEN ROSCOE (nee KLEVEN) 1926 - 2011 With heavy hearts, and with her family by her side, we sadly announce the peaceful passing of our dear Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Norma Eldeen Roscoe on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at The Seven Oaks Hospital. Mom was born in Sprague Manitoba on June 5,1926 to Clara and Sievert Kleven. She was raised on the family farm before moving to Winnipeg where she attended Business College. After Business College, Mom joined the Canadian Women's Army Corps and was stationed in both Ottawa and Montreal. After working in Montreal, Mom returned to Winnipeg where she was employed by The Timothy Eaton Company. It was while she was working at Eaton's that she met the love of her life, Joseph Frank Roscoe. Mom married Dad in 1950 and together they shared over 58 years before Dad's passing in 2009. Mom was a devoted wife mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cooked the best Sunday dinners, and hosted many memorable Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. She had a gift for knitting and crocheting and was always making beautiful afghans for her family, as well as keeping her dear grandchildren's hands warm and cozy with new mittens every winter. In later years, mom selflessly and courageously cared for Dad at home while he was stricken with Alzheimer's disease until he moved to Fred Douglas Lodge. Even then, Mom's dedication and loyalty to Dad never faltered. She was with him every step of the way. Mom is survived by her brother Oliver (Mavis), her four children; Murray (Wendy), Jo- Anne, Donna, Brenda (Don). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Kristy (Charles), Danny (Jen) and, Stacey (Ross), as well as her great-granddaughters; Vayda-Lee, MacKenzie, Karlee, and Riley. Mom also leaves many nieces and nephews who she cared for deeply. Mom is predeceased by her loving husband Joseph, her parents Clara and Sievert, brothers Lawrence, and John, and her dear sister and best friend Evelyn. The Roscoe Family extends a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Bhanot and staff of Level 3, Unit 5 Seven Oaks Hospital for their tender and compassionate care of our mother as well as their gracious support to our family when we needed it. In keeping with Mom's wishes, her family will honor her memory in private. With broken hearts Mom, we sadly say good-bye. Give Dad a kiss and hug for us! In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Norma's memory to The Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg MB R3C 056 Dear Mom, our only wish today would be for you and yesterday!
