Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNICE GOOLEY July 9, 1935 - October 10, 2011 Surrounded by her family, Bernice our beloved mom, grandma and great-grandma passed away peacefully at the Selkirk General Hospital on Monday October 10, 2011. Bernice was predeceased by her husband, Michael Halischuk, her parents Nicholas and Jennie Besyk, her twin brother Bert Besyk and his wife Faye, her brothers Tom and Arnold Besyk, her sister Helen Besyk and her brothers in law, Mike Kulbaba and Wally Scribny. Bernice is survived by her two daughters, Charlene Samagalski and Darlene Swain; grandsons Derek and Tyler (Janelle) Samagalski and Shawn Swain; great-granddaughter Kallie Samagalski; stepsons, Jim (Kathy), Larry (Helga) and their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her four sisters, Frances Kulbaba, Joyce Scribny, Joan Gooley (Arthur), Jackie Dola (Wayne) and her brother Ryan along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bernice grew up in Winnipeg Beach where she later returned to live with Mike in the late 1970s until moving to the Knights Center in Selkirk in October 2003 where she enjoyed the past years playing bingo and cards with her all friends. The family would like to thank the doctors at the Selkirk General Hospital and the care from the nursing staff, especially Paul. Funeral services will be held at the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St. in Selkirk MB, on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm. with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. After the lunch, interment will follow at the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Winnipeg Beach. Pallbearers will be her three grandsons Derek and Tyler Samagalski and Shawn Swain, her two stepsons Jim and Larry Halischuk and her brother-in-law Wayne Dola. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bernice's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
