FRANCESCA (GAGLIARDI) TORCHIA On October 8, 2011 Francesca (Gagliardi) Torchia peacefully returned home to her heavenly father. Francesca was born on February 13, 1927 in Amato, Italy. She is predeceased by her loving husband Antonio, her brother Tomasso (Caterina), her sister Caterina (Carmine) and her brothers-in-law Giuseppe and Domenico. The family in comforted in knowing that Francesca has reunited with the love of her life, Antonio. Francesca leaves behind her loving family; her sisters Concetta and Giuseppina, her children Frank (Annette), Lucia (Raffaele), Maria (Giuseppe) and Rosina (Mario). She was also blessed with the love of eight grandchildren and their spouses, 13 great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Francesca had strong faith and would often say Dio e Grande. The family is comforted in knowing that God is big and has welcomed Francesca home. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Parish Church, 510 River Avenue with Fr. Sam Argenziano the Celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street. As per Francesca's request, her pallbearers will be her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Society. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff on the palliative ward at the St. Boniface hospital for the love and care provided to Francesca.
