DORA ELIZABETH ZACHARIAS (nee TOEWS) November 6, 1940 - October 6, 2011 Dora passed away peacefully in her sleep with family by her side on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the age of 70 years 11 months. Dora is lovingly remembered by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Trevor (Trish and her children, Shelby and Shannyn) of Winnipeg, MB and Preston (Kelly) of Minneapolis, MN, her beloved grandchildren, Sarah Zacharias of Winnipeg, Carston, Mason, and Kasey Zacharias of Minneapolis, MN; her siblings, Jack (Carol), Esther (Alan), Tom (Sandy), Vic (Connie), Ted (Jitka), Jim, Debbi (Garth); as well as her favourite brother-in-law Bob Johnson. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Margaret Toews; her sister Jolene Johnson; and brother Roy Toews. Dora was our hero! As the oldest girl in our large family she was a mentor to those siblings closest to her in age and a visiting sister figure to the younger children. To know her was to love her. Her intelligence, grace, courage, wisdom shone through like a guiding star. She faced her life's many challenges head on, whether it was a health issue or an even more disturbing family crisis, Dora always did her best for her loved ones. She will remain in our hearts forever, continuing to love and guide us. We merely have to ask ourselves, What would Dora do? .
