EVELYN KRITICOS August 19, 1921 - October 8, 2011 After a short illness, Evelyn passed away on October 8, 2011, at the age of 90, at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her first husband Harold Orton in 1967 and her second husband, Frank Kriticos in 1998. She was also predeceased by her two sons, Ron Orton in 1970 and Dave Orton in 2000 and half-sister Rosalind in 2010. Evelyn is survived by stepdaughters Diane Simpson (Chris) and Francine Pescitelli (Ken), half-sister Flo Schlenz (Don), half-brother Bob Norquay (Jane) and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Evelyn was born in Winnipeg and after marrying Harold they settled in Transcona to raise their family. Evelyn was a devoted wife and caring mother, and family was the most important aspect in her life. She took joy in cooking for family and friends and was never happier than when her boys would have friends over and she could fuss over them. She was a true Transcona Mom . Evelyn also worked in retail for a number of years at the Crossroads Woolco where she developed many lasting relationships with her co-workers. She and her husband Frank were active members of the Transcona Legion #7 for many years. Her two sons were the center of her life and in her later years she continued to cherish the memories that they had provided her. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Green Acres Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
