Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN GERTRUDE ARCHAMBAULT (nee TULLY) On Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Deer Lodge Center, Jean passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband Jack, parents Charles and Margaret, brother Gordon and sister-in-law Betty. She is survived by her sons Jack (Betty), David (Sonia); grandchildren Pamela, Eve, Susan, and Michael; great-grandchildren Hayden and Kendra, along with brothers Harry (Irene), Fred, Floyd (Ella), Wes (Tina); sister-in-law Adeline and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was born on February 15, 1923 in Winnipeg and raised in the Poplar Heights District. She married her husband Jack in 1948 in Portage la Prairie and they lived in Amaranth, MB until 1962 before moving to Morris, MB until Jack's passing in 1968. She then moved to Winnipeg where she worked as a dietary aide at the Convalascent Home of Winnipeg until her retirement. Jean had a great love for gardening, cooking and doing crafts. She loved Goldeyes baseball and watching curling on television. She loved going on day trips with various organizations and meeting up with friends for coffee until health issues no longer allowed it. She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother who never forgot a birthday and always had something freshly baked for any visitor. A special thank you to the staff 4A West Dialysis Unit, St. Boniface Hospital and Deer Lodge Center 6 East and especially Doreen and Melanie of Home Care for their compassionate care. And a special thank you to Wes and Tina. In respect to Jean's wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 0S6, Kidney Foundation of Canada Unit 1 - 452 Dovercourt Drive Winnipeg, MB R3Y 1G4, or to a charity of ones choice.
