YAROSLAW (JERRY) BARTKOW I am very sadly announcing the passing of my husband Jerry, on October 11, 2011 at Seven Oaks Hospital, at the age of 86. Jerry was predeceased by his parents Nickolas and Mary, his brother Michael, and sisters Olive and Steffie. He is survived by his wife Olga - we would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on October 21. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces. Jerry was in the Navy for four years and was a member of Legion 141 for over 50 years. He worked for the Winnipeg School District for 30 years, 26 of those years at one school. He retired in June 1986, after retiring he golfed at Bel Acres for 10 years. In his early years he played Junior and Senior Baseball. He was involved in starting Arlington Sports Club, also St. John Cantius' 10 Pin Bowling League. I would like to thank the doctors and nurses that were involved in caring for Jerry. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
