MICHAEL JAMES PETERS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad and grandpa, Michael James Peters on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Grace Hospital after a lengthy illness. Left to forever cherish Mike's memory are his three children: Terry (Rob), Brent (Linda), Mike (Carolin); seven grandchildren: Brittany (Kyle), Jena (Eric), Brennan, Orisha, Marysa, Riley and Janessa; special friend Marj; sisters Agnes and Nora; brothers Ray(Carol) and Roy (Sherry); cousin Joy; sister-in-law Susan (Bob) and brother-in-law Brian. He was predeceased by his wife Audrey; mother Rose; and brothers Robert and Leslie. Born in Kenora, Ontario on August 28, 1935, Dad moved to Winnipeg to join the Royal Canadian Artillery in 1953. He met the love of his life and married Audrey in 1958. They, along with their family, were posted in Winnipeg, Shilo and twice to Germany. Dad retired from the military in 1978, and commenced a second career at Boeing until 1996. Dad s love was being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, archery, and other outdoor activities and spending time at the cabin at Lee River. Lately he had taken up golfing and spending the winter in Texas. He also loved meeting up with old comrades from the Army, especially Ches, Bob, Gerry, and numerous others at the Artillery Reunions. Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Bourgeoys Roman Catholic Church, 2235 Silver Avenue at Whytewold Road. We would like to thank the staff at 3 North, Grace Hospital for their kindness and care they provided Dad. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice. Mom and Dad, we miss you and love you so much.
