EDWARD (TED) PICKETT BALORK Edward (Ted) Pickett Balork passed quietly away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Ruth, he is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Alice; his son Michael; daughter-in-law Judy; grandson Michael; Aunt Goldie Pickett; his brother Fred; and niece Jo-Lynne. Ted was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on July 16, 1933. He served as a Navigator in the R.C.A. F. 440 Squadron located in Bagotville, Quebec and spent several years in Europe serving his country. Upon leaving the service, Ted joined the Dictaphone Corp. and worked there until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Loving the outdoors, Ted was dedicated to wildlife conservation and a proud member of the La Verendrye Game and Fish for many years. Later in life, he became interested in dog breeding and training. He was a life member of the Fort Garry Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club and will be missed by his little dachshund, Donnie. Ted was a loving husband to his wife Alice and lived his life with a very strong set of values of what was right and wrong. A quiet man, Ted spent much of spare time reading and learning about things he was interested in. At Ted's request, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba would be appreciated.
