MARGARET MAY HODGE (nee LODGE) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret May Hodge on October 12, 2011 with her family by her side at the age of 88 years. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Edwin and Eliza, brothers Teddy, Bill, Bob, Roy, and Percy, sister Violet Anderson, daughter Sharon, and granddaughter Shawna. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 68 years Ken, her sons, Roland (Donnett), Arthur (Karen), Barry (Maureen), daughters, Linda Pelzer (Jack), and Karen McDonald(Jack), nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was born on October 6, 1923 and spent her early years in Lac du Bonnet and Pointe du Bois, Manitoba, moving to Winnipeg with Ken and their family in 1956. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. She enjoyed Bingo, a good game of cards and lawn darts. She also enjoyed and spent many years knitting. We have all enjoyed many pairs of her warm slippers and mittens. Margaret loved animals and over the years nurtured many pets. She treasured the many years spent at the lake, near Lac du Bonnet, with Ken and the family. During Margaret's final years she faced many health challenges and like any challenge life presented, she faced them with graciousness and strength. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Home Care who helped to care for mom during the past several months allowing her to remain at home with her family for as long as possible and to the staff at Concordia Hospital for their wonderful care during recent weeks. You gifted us mom with a lifetime of happy memories and we will all treasure them and you will never be forgotten. Cremation has taken place, A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there, I don not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you waken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds and circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there, I did not die. Funeral Arrangements In Care Of WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVE. WEST AT BOND 224-1525
