JOHN DAVID HENDERSON October 22, 1953 October 14, 2011 On October 14, 2011 after a sudden illness, John Henderson passed away peacefully with his wife by his side. He is survived by his wife Jan (Davidson); his parents, Jim and Win Henderson; sister Pat Dalman (Norm); nieces, Kirsten Josephson (Steven) and Tannys Williams (Sergio Garza); great-nieces, Willow and Asra and great-nephew Soren. John was born and raised on Moorgate Street in St. James, graduating from Silver Heights Collegiate and Red River Community College. He worked many years in pest control with S.W.A.T. Pest Control and Orkin P.C.O. Canada. John lived life to the fullest, enjoying golf tournaments, as well as hunting and fishing trips with The Boys. He was the number one fan of Jan's Curling Team. He loved to share conversations with friends over a Blue at The Heights, B.P., or simply relaxing on his back deck. As a member of Gimli Legion he enjoyed the weekly meat draw with family, followed by Mom's homecooked dinners and a friendly card game. As proud as he was of his homegrown tomatoes, he was prouder still of Jan's homemade tomato soups and sauces. He loved to travel and loved people, never refusing a favour or turning down a good time. Jan thanks the caring staff at Grace Hospital Emergency, Pharmacy and 5 North, with special thanks to Heather and Debbie. Heartfelt thanks to our friends and family; we love you all. A service will take place 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19 at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (across from Brookside Cemetery).
