ANGELO MARTINI Peacefully with his loving family at his side, Angelo Martini passed away at the age of 76 years. Angelo leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years Eufemia, his daughter Isabella (Raffaele) Dattero and his son Alberto Martini. Also left are his grandchildren Giuseppe (Christina) Dattero, Lisa Dattero, Devon, Nicki, Ben and Cameron Martini as well as one brother Pasquale (Piera) Martini. Angelo immigrated to Canada in 1955 from Lucca, Toscana Italy. He married his childhood sweetheart Femia shortly afterward. He and Femia built a solid and loving home for their children and grandchildren. Together they were well known in the community for their Northern Italian cuisine at Martini's Restaurant. They owned their restaurant for 24 years before he retired in 2001. To Angelo, life was about family and friends. He loved good company, good food and a good laugh. He was an amazing storyteller and a loyal friend to many. He took pride in his work and was generous with his heart. It was common for Angelo to go above and beyond for those closest to him. Thank you to the staff at H.S.C. and Dr. Koulak, Dr. Embil and Dr. Blank for their care. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street.
