ELIZABETH (BETTY) RODEWALD On October 13, 2011 our beloved mother was called to her eternal home. Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Linda and Judy. In 2004, she was predeceased by her husband and best friend, Walter. She will be sadly missed by her sister Ann (Don) Ranchie of California, Aunt Helen, sisters-in-law Linda and Irene Rodewald, brother-in-law Frank Horner and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents John and Elizabeth Schwarz. Mom was born on May 20, 1933 in Flin Flon, Manitoba. At the age of four, the family moved to Elie where she was raised with her sister on the family farm. Mom graduated from St. Mary's Academy and went to Business College in Winnipeg. She took secretarial training and subsequently worked with a firm of chartered accountants. In 1956 she married Walter and later moved to Brandon where they raised their family. Her primary focus in life was her family and she lovingly fulfilled her chosen roles as wife, mother and homemaker. She worked side by side with Dad in the hospitality business and cherished all the ensuing friendships with staff, clients and partners. After retirement, Mom and Dad moved back to Winnipeg and had 15 more happy years together. Mom enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble, bridge, knitting, bowling and cheering on the Goldeyes. She was a warm, kind and caring lady who placed everyone's needs before her own and her devotion to Dad was always unwavering and such an inspiration to us. Mom was always grateful for the many joys and blessings in her life and her strong Christian faith sustained her throughout. For all that life has given us, there is no greater treasure than the days we had with you Mom. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1541 St. Mary's Road with Pastor Cameron Schnarr officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. FUNERAL CENTRE (204) 949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
