ROBERTA LYNN PIPES (nee MCDONALD) April 6, 1942 - October 7, 2011 As the dearest wife, daughter, mom, sister, granny, and friend, you were a quiet strength, dedicated to family and friends. You did so much. You loved the outdoors and travelled far. You hiked, biked, golfed, kayaked and camped in many wonderful places. You baked, knit, and sewed. You shared your knowledge and skills and inspired us to follow in your ways. You had a wonderful career as a nurse and educator, and dedicated yourself to improving the lives of others. You followed your faith and were active in supporting the life of church and community. Think of how many people you touched! Your strength was profound, never failing even when your health was challenged severely. Your love was unwavering and never doubted. We will always hold you in our hearts, just as you held us in yours. Bless you and thank you - your loving husband of 45 years, Mike; Andrea, Greg, Ethan and Aida; Cam and Sara; sister Myrna; mother Janey, wife of Frenchy (RL McDonald, deceased) and all your family and friends. Lynn's life will be celebrated on Friday, October 21, 1:00 p.m., at St. Philip's Anglican Church, 2928 Eastdowne Rd., Victoria, BC. Reception to follow from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Victoria Golf Club, 1110 Beach Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made through the myeloma support group www.myelomavancouverisland.ca All contributions in Lynn's name will be directed to the Hematology Research and Clinical Trials Unit in Vancouver, to whom we are so grateful. Tax receipts will be issued.
