GEORGE HALLICK Suddenly, George (Jumbo) Hallick passed away on October 16, 2011. Born in Winnipeg May 27, 1924, he farmed and was employed by Canada Cement. In 1957 Dad married Leona Krebs and they began raising their four children. Sports were a big part of Jumbo's life, especially curling. Dad's teams won numerous bonspiels, including the MCA Grand Aggregate. George was predeceased by son Darrell; wife Leona; grandparents, Daniel and Julia Hallick; father Julius; mother Pauline Rattai; step-mother Elise Klemas; in-laws, John and Nettie Krebs; Leona's uncle Bill Krebs; brother-in-law Ozzie Rekken; and nephew Steve Rekken. George will be lovingly remembered by Donna (Kim), Barb, Glen (Suzanne, Jordan and Amanda), sister Dorothy, brother Barry (Pat), brother-in-law Dwyain (Val), sister-in-law Marlane (Alvin), as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service Saturday, October 22 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Starbuck at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
