GARNETT Peacefully, on Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Tudor House Personal Care Home, Reba Garnett, aged 86 years of Selkirk, Manitoba passed away. She is survived by her beloved husband, James Garnett of Selkirk; son Bob Garnett (Donelda) of East Selkirk; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Garnett (Michelle) of Dauphin and Debra Kuzminski (Paul) of Winnipeg; four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Jenna and Andrew and sister Elizabeth Keppy of Toronto, Ontario. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Keppy and her brother, Colin Keppy. Reba was born in Spence, Ontario on July 17, 1925 and attended school there. During the Second World War she enlisted in the army and became a telephone operator, working in both Toronto and Vancouver. During her service in Vancouver she met Jim, they married in 1946 and returned to Selkirk where they have lived until present. Reba was a long service telephone operator with Manitoba Telephone System when she retired in 1987. Reba and Jim were active participants in Knox Presbyterian church and in Latter years Lockport Community Church. Reba had a skill for writing prose and poetry. She wrote many stories and had a sharp wit. She also loved horses and especially her Boston Terriers (and they could do no wrong). She loved family activities and always made the festive seasons of the year special. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Tudor House for the excellent care shown to Reba. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk with Reverend Anthon Bouw officiating.
