MARIO CENDOU It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mario Cendou on October 15, 2011, at the age of 88 in Kelowna, BC. Mario was predeceased by his loving wife Felicita in 1989, brothers Agostino, Giovanni and sister Pierina in Italy. He leaves behind his beloved children Alba and husband Danilo, Edda and late husband Giovanni, Silvano and his wife Maria and his two treasured grandchildren Christopher and Felicia as well as many extended family and friends. Mario was born in Masseris, Udine, Italy on May 14, 1923. He immigrated to Canada in 1962 with his wife and three children and settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mario worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He retired from Varta Batteries in 1988 after working there for 25 years. Mario was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed the company of family and friends. Throughout his retirement years, Mario remained active and would often ride his bike, cross country ski and loved to dance at socials and parties. He was also a proud member of the Alpini Club in Winnipeg. He made many friends over the years and all who knew Mario enjoyed his calm and peaceful nature. Viewing will take place at 10:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Immediately following the service, all are invited to attend interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home at 4000 Portage Avenue.
