PHILIP ADOLF WIEBE
Born: Nov 13, 1951
Date of Passing: Oct 18, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHILIP ADOLF WIEBE Philip Adolf Wiebe (November 13, 1951 - October 18, 2011 ) of Niverville, MB, formerly of Winnipeg, passed away very peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital after a courageous battle with a cancerous brain tumor. Phil was born in Saskatoon, grew up in St. Laurent, MB. Phil's family meant the world to him. His eyes sparkled when he talked about his five grandchildren. Phil had a very giving heart. In a quiet, unassuming way, he was always ready to help family, friends and strangers he crossed paths with. Phil worked as a mechanic at MTS since 1985 and loved trucking occasionally on weekends. He was a Mr. Fix-it. His sense of humour carried him and us along. Phil and Lois loved to travel, appreciating God's creation. He had a deep faith in God and spent much time studying scripture. He would want us to know, live, walk, trust and rest in Jesus. In the past year, the motto Faith, Family and Friends took on a new meaning, as each of these became so valued through his cancer journey. Left to treasure Phil's memories are, his best friend and beloved wife of almost 36 years, Lois, his dear children: Cindy (Keith) Feldbusch and Pam (Shane) Hartry. He will be forever cherished by his grandchildren whom he took great pride in - Reagan, Harley, David, Aidan and Matthew. He will be sadly missed by his siblings: George (Sarah) Wiebe, Pete (Tina) Wiebe, Dave (Dorothy) Wiebe, Neil (Agatha) Wiebe, Henry (Marie) Wiebe, Helen (Abe) Reimer, Margaret (Lorne) Funk, Ed (Margaret) Wiebe; in-laws; Kay Martens, Betty (John) Peters, Harry (Carole) Klassen, Emily Klassen and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Aaron (in infancy), parents Frank and Agnes Wiebe, parents-in-law Kornelius and Kathie Klassen and brother-inlaw Jake Martens. The family wishes to thank the staff of 8A Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital for their incredible care and compassion. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Phil's memory to Phil and Lois' sponsored child's (Yeimie M Feliz) family through Compassion Canada, PO Box 5591, London, ON, N6A 5G8. A celebration of Phil's life will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Word of Life Mission Church (corner of 5th Avenue and 3rd St South) in Niverville. Viewing will be available prior to the service at the church from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Hespeler Park Cemetery after the service. A luncheon will follow where an opportunity will be given to share memories of Phil. ...and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
