DORIS AILEEN LAPORTE (nee JACKETT) Peacefully in the early afternoon hours of October 15, 2011, Doris LaPorte passed away at the age of 89. Doris was predeceased by her husband Joseph LaPorte and she leaves to mourn, nine children, Joyce (John), Marlene (Wilf), Olive (Fred), John (Shirley), Lloyd, Edward (Regina), Robert, Gary, Peggy (Jack). She also leaves over 50 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Doris was also predeceased by her mother Elva and her father John Jackett and sisters, Velma, Olive and Marianne and her brothers, Victor, Howard, Bill and Clarence. Doris lived out 71 years of her life faithfully loving her husband Joseph and providing a good life for her children. Doris spent much of her time with horses and participating in horse shows along with her children and grandchildren - where she left many memories for all to cherish. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. The LaPorte family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge for all the care and comfort they provided for Doris until her passing.
