RUZENA KLIMESOVA Ruzena Klimesova died, suddenly, on October 15, 2011, nine days after having just celebrated her 73rd birthday among family and friends. Ruzena was born October 6, 1938 in Bratislava, Slovakia. She was the daughter of Ludovit Klimes and Maria Kissova. She leaves behind a daughter Tatiana, granddaughter Christine, grandson Alexander, great-granddaughter Arianna, son-in-law Pelligrino, sister Irena, brother Antonin, nieces and nephews and ex-spouse Barnabas Blaskovic. She had two children: Tatiana and Roman. She was preceded in death by her son Roman. Ruzena was a loving, patient and generous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was soft-spoken but with a sharp wit and a dry sense of humour. She was humble, talented and enjoyed the simple beauty of life. She enjoyed board games, cards, stitch work, knitting, cooking, travelling, gardening, shopping...and was very handy around the house. In her earlier years, she was able to assemble and take apart a bicycle like nobody's business. She liked gardening and was a wonderful and creative cook. Most of the time, she could stretch strudel dough over an entire dining table without ripping it. One of her favourite foods to eat, was: Treska (cod salad). She moved to Canada, in 1969, where she held a number of different jobs while she tried to learn English and become trilingual. Her last employer was U. of M. where she worked in a lab. Ruzena dedicated her life, entirely, to her family. We will miss the twinkle in your eyes as you proudly showed off your grund-grund dotter . Mom, we hope you now find the peace you deserve and can see how much you were and are loved. You've led a difficult life. We hope that now you are in a happy place where no one will ever call you Roo-Zeena again. Memorial Service to be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at 625 Portage Avenue.
