Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN WATSON (nee MCRAE) 1914 - 2011 With sadness the family announces the passing of Eileen Watson, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Oakview Place, at the age of 97. Eileen was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Douglas Alexander Watson, sister Lola and brother Melvin. She will be lovingly remembered by daughters Sharon (Jim) Fielding and Bonnie (Derek) Plouffe, and her grandchildren Kelly (Jason), Scott (Michelle), Adam (Lana) and Robin (Rob), as well as great-grandchildren Chase, Riley, Jillian, Paige, Elliot, Brynn, Fynn, Oliver and Jenna. Eileen was born September 27, 1914, in the R.M. of Woodlands, MB. She was the daughter of Finlay and Edith McRae. Eileen grew up on the family farm in Warren. After graduation, she moved to Winnipeg and worked at the CPR until she married. One of the highlights of early married life was living in Victoria where Doug was stationed during the war. Sharon was born in Victoria. After the family returned to Manitoba, Bonnie was born. The Watsons moved to their beloved Bannerman Avenue home where they developed close friendships. Family was most important to Eileen. Her other interests included entertaining, decorating, bowling, sewing, gardening and singing in the choir. Many happy hours were spent planning picnics, camping trips and family vacations. On retirement, Eileen and Doug enjoyed road trips across North America as well as trips to Mexico, Hawaii and Jamaica. In later years, Eileen became an avid sports fan following the fortunes of the Blue Bombers and the The Fish (Goldeyes). Until recently, she lived in her own home and enjoyed her walks around the neighbourhood. Visits from her great-grandchildren gave her enormous pleasure. She was looking forward to the arrival of great-grandchild number ten. Funeral services will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Eileen's memory to a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
