JESSIE (BETTY) MAY CAIN (nee MYERS) May 27, 1930 - October 19, 2011 Peacefully, on October 19, 2011, Betty Cain passed away at home at the age of 81 years. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Alvina Myers, sister Frances Goings, and brother George Myers. Survived by sisters Nettie Kane and Ruth Dreilich. Betty will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband, Richard (Dick), of 62 years; her children Ruth Arnold (Bill), Janet Quintero (Ernie), Arthur (Holly), Joseph, Richard (Shelly), Catherine Mackay (Clayton); 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; special nieces Betty Ann and Elaine, chosen son Andy and as well numerous friends and extended family. Betty was born and raised in East Kildonan, Winnipeg, and as a young lady worked at Picardy's and Eaton's. Betty met Dick on a blind date in 1947 at a Manitoba Motorcycle Club house party. They were married on June 18, 1949 and resided in Winnipeg Beach. In addition to raising her own family, she also cared for foster children. She became an avid gardener, wonderful cook, lifetime curling member, Ladies Legion Auxiliary member, Brown Owl of the First Winnipeg Beach Brownie pack, and an active member of St. Bartholomews church. Betty had a generous spirit and helped out in the community anywhere she was needed with a smile. Betty loved family gatherings with lots of games and laughter. Special thanks to Dr. R.C. Funeral service to be held Monday, October 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomews Church, Winnipeg Beach.
