Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER ARMSTRONG It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Armstrong on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Victoria General Hospital, with his family by his side. Walter's memory will forever be cherished by his wife of 42 years Shirley, son Russell, daughter Cherie and son-in-law Jack Tulner. He was predeceased by his mother Dorothy, father John and sister Pat Kochie. Walter's journey started on July 22, 1944, in Winnipeg, MB. He was the youngest sibling of brothers Ron and John, and sister Pat. Walter was a Journeyman Electrician who worked 10 years in construction and 26 years at C.N.R. His favorite pastimes were working out at the Re-Fit, volunteering at St. Paul's Church and the Win-N-Trak Model Railway Club, gardening and most of all spending time with family. His kind-heartedness, generosity and good natured approach to life will leave a special remembrance for all those whose lives he has immensely touched. Walter was a big kid at heart, who loved to be outdoors and active; giggles and laughs were never far away from the family when Walter was in our midst. Walter did so much, yet asked for so little. He will be forever loved, forever remembered, and dearly missed as a husband, father, uncle, brother and friend. Cremation has taken place and "A Celebration of his Life" will be held on October 28 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Fort Garry, 830 North Drive, Winnipeg, MB.
