PASTOR GARY WAYNE RUSSELL It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of Pastor Gary on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at the age of 64 years after a courageous battle with cancer at Altona hospital. He is survived by, his wife Margret; sons, Scott (Michelle) and Trent (Ricki); grandsons, Braden, Dylan,Brody; granddaughters, Rebeka, Karli (mother Nichole); brother, John (Wendy); as well numerous nieces and nephews, and close family friend, Phyllis. He was predeceased by his father, mother, and sister, Karen. Gary was born February 4, 1947, in Selkirk, married (Margret) May 17, 1969. Gary worked for several years as an electrician in Selkirk. In 1990, Gary and his family went to Saskatoon SK, where he attended seminary. He served the parish of Rosenfeld and Morris until his retirement. After his retirement he was privileged to do pulpit supply for several rural congregations throughout Manitoba. Through Gary's ministerial work he was blessed to meet many people who became a part of his life. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Selkirk with Bishop Elaine Sauer officiating.
