IVY MAY COCKERELL October 10, 1914 - October 20, 2011 Ivy May Cockerell died October 20, 2011, at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. At her request, no services will be held and cremation has taken place. Ivy lived most of her life in Winnipeg, MB where she married Jock Cockerell and raised her three children. She worked for many years at the Children's Hospital. Ivy loved to curl, travel and cross-stitch. She spent many summers with her family in Regina Beach, SK and was an active member of her community while she lived at Meadowood Manor. She was strong, independent and accomplished everything she set her mind to. Nana is deeply loved and cherished by her many family members and friends, all over Canada and the U.S.A. Ivy is survived by her son Len Caley and his wife Joann; daughter Janice Smit and spouse Gerry and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jock Cockerell in 1966, daughter Joan Olson in 2006, five brothers and one sister. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their love and care and also Lori, her caregiver, her friend, her angel.
