ANKER MARIUS MOELLER OLSEN December 25, 1921 - October 23, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Anker, at Tuxedo Villa on Sunday, October 23. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Valerie; daughters, Anna-Marie and Cora-Lynne (Ron); grandchildren, Jordan and Elizabeth; sister Ingrid and many extended family members and friends. Anker was predeceased by his parents, brothers and their wives. Anker was born in Viborg, Denmark and came to Canada with his family as a child. The family settled in Pass Lake, Ontario. His Danish heritage was very important to Anker and he had been an active member in the Scandinavian community. Anker's Christian faith influenced his daily life. He was a faithful servant of God, serving as a Church Elder, Church President, as well as volunteering with Lutheran Volunteer Ministries at a number of facilities in Winnipeg. He dedicated his life to being an example of what Christian love is all about. Anker's love for family and friends was evident in all of his relationships. He took every opportunity to greet everyone with a smile that lit up his face and made you feel loved. A special thank you to the staff at Tuxedo Villa for their loving care of Anker. A celebration of God's gift of Anker will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 59 Academy Road, Winnipeg. Memorial gifts may be made to the church or the Scandinavian Centre Inc., 764 Erin Street, Winnipeg, MB R3G 2W4. Interment will take place at a later date in Thunder Bay.
