Klassen, aged 86 years, of Altona, Manitoba and formerly of Sommerfeld, Manitoba passed away at his residence on October 25, 2011. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Helen; his children Rick (Becky) Klassen, Ruth (Bruce) Friesen, and Alvina (Gerald) Hildebrand, also by seven grandchildren and their spouses. The Funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bergthaler Mennonite Church, Altona, Manitoba with interment to follow in the Altona Cemetery. Viewing will be held at Wiebe Funeral Home Altona on Friday, October 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday, October 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and at the church prior to the service. In memory of John L. Klassen donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Food Grains Bank. Arrangements entrusted to: Wiebe Funeral Home Altona Ltd. 204-324-5404
