SHARON ROSE (HYSLOP) ROMAN (nee CUMMING) Peacefully at home, with her family at her side, Sharon Rose Roman passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Sharon was born in Winnipeg Manitoba September 19, 1947. She lived her younger years in Winnipeg and Gimli, moving back to Winnipeg where she graduated from Kelvin High School in 1965 and Gordon Bell High School in 1966. She is survived by her husband Russell and children, Clifford James Hyslop (Jennifer), Jonathon Richard Hyslop, Jennifer Leigh McCulloch (Paul); grandchildren Brady, Emerson, Wyatt, Carson, Koston, Brandon, Sarah, Joshua, Hannah, Emma and Izabella; stepchildren Charles, Rachele, Amanda, Lisa and their seven children (Texas); sister Grace (Don), sister-in-law Catherine; nephews Hugh, Scott, Kirk, Andy and Evan; nieces Yvette and Leigha; and many more special family members. Sharon was predeceased by father Harry Clifford, mother Sarah Jane, and brother Dwight Reginald. James (Jim) Hyslop and Sharon were married in 1967, living in Winnipeg and then Selkirk, where she was a founding member of The Snow Stompers Snowmobile Club from 1972 - 1984. In 1978 Sharon's nursing career began. She graduated with honours from Red River Community College going on to work at Seven Oaks Hospital for 30 years, and then continued casual work till 2011 in I.C.U. She was a magnificent nurse. Sharon had many faithful friends and co-workers through the years. Her friendship was a treasure to all. Family gatherings were most important to Sharon. To have her grandchildren, children and relatives around her were a fulfillment of love. In 2004 Sharon married Russell and shared happiness together in Texas and Winnipeg. Travel was their passion, enjoying many miles together. Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg. The family is grateful for the care given to Sharon by Dr. Fatoye, the Palliative Care Team, and Seven Oaks Oncology Department; and a special thank you to her coworkers at Seven Oaks I.C.U. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Care Manitoba.
