JOHN CHARLES PRENDERGAST Peacefully, John passed away on October 25, 2011 with his son and daughter by his side at Concordia Hospital. John is survived by son Thomas (Cheryl) and daughter Sharron. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn; infant daughter Linda; parents John and Mary; his brother George and sisters Margaret, Grace and Helen. John was born September 15, 1928 in Winnipeg, where he lived his entire life. Mom and Dad were married in 1949. Dad was employed for 42 years with the CNR retiring as a Carman in 1986. John was a very giving person who took great joy in making others happy and he was the best Dad there ever was. He loved all God's creatures and will be especially missed by the family pet Jersey. John loved the outdoors and spent many summers with wife Evelyn, son Tom and his wife Cheryl at the family cottage at Malachi, ON. He will be sorely missed by his lake neighbours and friends as well as those in Winnipeg and also by the members of his coffee club. At Dad's request there will be no funeral and cremation has already taken place. A casual gathering for lunch will be held for friends and family in the near future. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Humane Society.
