RITA HELEN MCLEOD (nee DICK) Peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, Rita passed away in Anola at the age of 61 years. Left to forever cherish Rita's memory is her beloved husband and soul mate John; loving children Jeremy, Jason and Gaylena; mother Anna; sisters Eleonore (Henry) and Anne (Jake); brothers Henry (Margret) and Alfred (Jennifer); sister-in-law June and the children's father Jim; as well as her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Nick. Rita and John loved being together, no matter whether they were at home watching a movie, or travelling to Las Vegas. Together they created so many wonderful memories. John was the love of her life; his life will never be the same. Rita was devoted to her family and adored by them. She was extremely proud of her children, their accomplishments and the wonderful adults that they have become. Her death has left a huge void in their lives. She was a wonderful example to them by the way she lived her life, her strong faith, her unconditional love and support, and her family values. These will guide them as they go forward, honouring her memory. Rita graduated with a B Ed, and taught for a few years in rural Manitoba. She then entered into new ventures as a partner in hotels in various locations, from Churchill to Piney, Manitoba, and was an integral part of their success. Throughout her travels, she never forgot the importance of friendships, always keeping in touch with 'the girls' from her university days, and longtime friends Shelley and Mary. Rita was a positive person, beautiful inside and out. Her kind and compassionate spirit will live forever in all who were blessed to have had her in their lives. On Wednesday, November 2, 2011 a Celebration of Rita's Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive. Flowers gratefully declined.
