WANDA WALDERINA HASTMANN (nee SCHMULAND) July 16, 1930 - October 27, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Wanda Hastmann, on October 27, 2011 at the age of 81, at the River East Personal Care Home. Mom was predeceased by her husband Richard Hastmann and her parents John and Hilda Schmuland. She is survived by her three sons, Greg (Marion), Brian (Elaine) and children Chris (Dori) and Tanis, and son Robert. Mom is also survived by her six sisters, Irene, Evelyn, Elsie (Gordon), Myrtle (Charles), Eleanor (Norman) and Rose (Jim), and four brothers, Gordon (Joan), John (Karen), Dan (Gale) and Randy (Pauline), and many nieces and nephews. Wanda was born in Yellow Grass, SK on July 16, 1930. She worked at Pauline Chambers in her early years in Winnipeg and loved telling stories about working there. She attended Sherwood Park Lutheran Church and enjoyed the Ladies group before going to the Nursing home. She took part in the quilting bees and always knitted for the mitten tree. Her recipes of raisin muffins and pineapple cake are still being enjoyed by her family, especially her two grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:30 a.m., at Sherwood Park Lutheran Church, 7 Tudor Crescent with Pastor Tom Lurvey officiating. Interment at Brookside Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at the River East Personal Care Home.
