IOANNIS (JOHN) KANTZIORIS Peacefully on October 28, 2011, with his family by his side, Ioannis (John) Kantzioris passed away at the age of 78 years. John is preceded in death by both of his parents. John was born May 19, 1933 in Theologos, Sparta, Greece to Georgios and Panagiota Kantzioris. He moved to Canada in 1956 returning to Greece in 1964. On February 28 of 1965, John married his wife of 46 years Georgia Sarantopoulos. John was hardworking from a young boy until he retired at the age of 65. He spent many leisure hours hunting and fishing and he loved his garden. He also took great pride in the company of his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Georgia, sons George and Peter (Cindy), two grandchildren Matthew and Alexia and sister Vasiliki Counanes. Also left to cherish his memory are many cousins, nephews, nieces and other family and friends. Prayers will be held Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Avenue. Funeral service will be held at the same location on Thursday, November 3 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Theodore Paraskevopoulos officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
