Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANICETA CASTRO ALTASIN March 20, 1946 - October 31, 2011 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Aniceta Castro Altasin. She died peacefully in her sleep on October 31, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by loved ones. She was predeceased by her parents: Teodolo and Ester, and siblings: Jorge, Teodora, and Brigido. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Venancio, her daughter Anniebelle, and son Alvin (Pamela). She also leaves to mourn her passing, her brothers and sisters: Gertrudes (Francasio), Severina (Dionisio), Emilia (Renato), Prudencio (Virginia), Fernando (Cely), Leonida (Nardo), George (Esterilita), and numerous nieces and nephews. Aniceta was born in Santor, Bongabon, Nueva Ecija, Philippines in 1946, immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1974, and married Venancio in 1978. As the first person in her family to come to Canada, she was proud of the many family members she helped to immigrate and join her in Winnipeg. Lamay/Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 3 and Friday, November 4, 2011 commencing at 6:00 p.m. at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd., Winnipeg. A mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral, 353 St. Mary Ave. on Saturday, November 5 at 9:00 a.m. with Rev. Monsignor Ward Jamieson Celebrant. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, Notre Dame Avenue. A reception will take place at the Mosaic Reception Centre following the interment. Aniceta's family sends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the PD Unit, E5, and 5B at St. Boniface Hospital for the wonderful care they provided her. To all of her family, friends, and neighbours, thank you for all of your love and support.
