ALVIN MICHAEL KITCHUR Peacefully on October 31, 2011, with family at his side, Alvin Michael Kitchur passed away at Riverview Health Centre. Alvin was born on November 3, 1956 in Homebrook. Later the family moved into St. Martin. Alvin will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lorraine (Middlestead), his daughter Kali, and son Ashton of St. Martin, and son Justin (Jacinthe) of St. Jean Baptiste, his mother Helen, a brother Ken (Erin), sisters Bev (Don) Makinson, Debbie (Gord Knowles), Deanna (Terry) Hayward and Naomi Kippen, as well as by his mother-in-law, Irene Middlestead, in-laws, Janice and David Godfrey, Della and Kevin Lawrence, Tammy and Andrew Duncan, Garth and Trudy Middlestead, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Alvin was predeceased by his father Joe Kitchur (2005) and father-in-law Walter Middlestead (2006). Alvin was a farmer by heart and a Fire Ranger by trade working for the Gypsumville Natural Resources for the last 34 years. Alvin always made time for his family, whether it was snowmobiling, hunting, fishing or just spending an evening sitting around talking and teasing each other. Alvin loved his hunting trips, to him a weekend camping in the bush was the best holiday ever. Alvin also loved having his buddies over to the garage for cocktails. A viewing will be held between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern. A celebration of his life will take place at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the St. Martin Community Hall, with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Interment to follow at the St. Martin Cemetery. Following Alvin's wishes, active pallbearers will be Gord Kirbyson, Rick Lund, Charlie Kitchur, Matthew Jarvie, David Godfrey and Garth Middlestead. Honorary Pallbearers will be Avery Kitchur and Tanner Hayward. The family would like to thank Gord and Rick for being there, the Gypsumville Ambulance service, the emergency and 6th floor ward at St. Boniface Hospital, M.I.C.U. at Health Science Centre as well as the caring staff at Riverview Health Centre.
