Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH PETER DUMAS Peacefully, with family by his side, after a short illness on October 29, 2011, Peter passed away at Gimli Community Health Centre. Peter is survived by his son Brian (Shaun), daughter Jo-Anne, grandchildren David (Vicki) Schultz, Daena Schultz, Darcy (Carol) Schultz, Darrell (Lisa) Schultz, and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving Peter are nephews Aurel and Norm Leclerc, niece Giselle (Vince) Merke, the rest of the Leclerc family and friend Marie Webb. Peter was born March 14, 1919 near Ste. Rose du Lac, MB. He was employed by Dominion Bridge for 25 years and then started his own his steel erecting company. Peter was employed on many large construction projects in Manitoba as a foreman and superintendent. Peter was a long-time member of the Gimli Legion and was in charge of the meat draws for many years and therefore was known affectionately as Meat Draw Pete . Peter served with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles in the Second World War. A memorial service will be Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #182 (Gimli Branch), 146-6th Street S. Peter will be interred in St. Vital Parish Cemetery. A special thank-you to Dr. R. C. Patel and the nursing staff.
