ELIZABETH RORABECK (nee DOUGLAS) Peacefully we announce the passing of Elizabeth on Monday, October 31, 2011, at the age of 91 years, at Victoria Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Helen (Don), Melvin (Sylvia), Wendy, and Joy (Fred); seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Pat and sister Dorothy. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Edward, and her parents, Patrick and Maria. She was born in Scotland in 1919 and travelled to Canada with her parents and three brothers at the age of four. The family settled in Hilton, Manitoba. In 1940 she married Edward Rorabeck and together they raised their family in the Elmwood area. Mom was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and loved to participate in its' many activities. Mom will be lovingly remembered for her quick wit and feisty spirit. The family would like to thank River Park Gardens and the staff of Victoria Hospital (4 South) for the excellent care they provided mom. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Green Acres Funeral Home, at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made in Elizabeth's memory to the Victoria General Hospital, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 2E8.
