Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE MCIVOR (nee BANNISTER) It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Florence McIvor on October 30, 2011 at the age of 95. Left to cherish her memory are daughters Donalene (Bob) of Lester Beach, Cheryl (Ed) of Winnipeg, sons Norman (Lila) of Ottawa, Ken (Erna) Of Calgary, Glenn (Jackie) of Winnipeg and daughter-in-law Sherry (Robert) of Nelson, BC, 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister Gladys Lye of Portage La Prairie, brother-in-law Angus and his wife Alice of Moosejaw, SK. She was predeceased by her husband Elwood in 2001 and son Robert in 1986, parents Henry and Ellen Bannister, Brothers Frank, Stanley and Sister Ethel and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. Mom was an avid reader and liked to follow politics. Mom was a great sports fan, especially curling and baseball. We could always find her watching or listening to some kind of game. When she was younger she enjoyed playing the piano and organ for her dad... her dad used to sit and enjoy listening to her play the piano and Gladys playing the violin. He would sing his favourite songs and hymns with them. She continued the tradition in our home playing the organ. Our mother devoted her whole life to raising and loving her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren even the grand dogs. Mom was born in Transcona where she remained all her life. She lived in East Park Lodge for nine years moving to Park Manor at the end of March 2011. The family would like to thank all the homecare workers, nurses and aids that took such good care of mom. A very special mention to her granddaughter Audrey and son-in-law Ed who spent countless hours with our mother taking her to appointments and running errands, she was so grateful. Funeral service to be held at Green Acres Funeral Home on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Park Manor Personal Care Home Building Fund. 301 Redonda Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2C 1L7.
