MYRNA WENSEL (nee KULBABA) Early in the morning an angel came and called her name, and by her hand took her home. It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Myrna Wensel on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the Concordia Hospital, at the age of 79 years. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 42 years, Alex. She will also be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews: Sylvia (Gordon) Yakimow, Ralph (Pat) Kundel, Richard (Lynn) Kundel, Ted (Gail) Lomatski, Zane (Bev) Lomatski, Cherylene (Bob) Sawatzky, Roxanne (Darren) Burton, Lori-Lee Harris of White City, SK, Wendy-Anne and Darryl Felkowsky of Edmonton, AB, and their families, sisters-in-law: Evelyn Wensel of Winnipeg, Lillian Felkowsky of Edmonton, AB, Frances Kulbaba of Selkirk, and all of Myrna's extended family and friends. Myrna was the youngest and last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Pearl and Marko Kulbaba, sisters Dorothy (Fred) Lomatski, Evelyn Kulbaba, Lena (Peter) Miluch, Minnie (Alex) Kundel, Ada (Harry) Millan, brothers Mike and Harold, as well as three brothers who passed away in infancy: Mikey, John and Antony. Myrna was born at the Selkirk Hospital on December 2, 1931, grew up on the family farm and attended school in Sandhill, MB. In 1944 she moved with the family to Bird's Hill, MB. Myrna moved to Winnipeg in 1955, and worked at Wawanesa Insurance and Thomas Elias for many years. She resided at the family home on Trent Avenue until she married her husband Alex in April, 1969. They lived on Washington Avenue, eventually moving to their new home, built by Alex, in Gonor (south of Lockport) where she resided with her husband Al until her passing. Together, they enjoyed life, gardening, and the many pets they had. She had many other interests that kept her active, from curling to fall suppers. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Following the service, interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery, 4535 Main Street, Winnipeg. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Myrna's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Humane Society. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of Concordia Hospital for the care and attention afforded her. Our brief partings on earth will appear one day as nothing beside the joy of eternity together.
