Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGWYNETH MARY JONES (nee ROSSER) Peacefully on October 29, 2011, with her son by her side, Gwyneth Jones passed away at the Grace Hospital. Left to cherish her memory are: her children David (Michelle), and Shan; grandchildren Stephan and Peyton Pereux; her brother Gwyn, her sisters Muriel and Clarice, her many friends and her little Yorkshire Terrier named Ted. Mom was predeceased by Dad, Mervyn Jones in February, 2010. Dad was her partner, best friend and love of her life for almost 60 years. Mom was born June 29, 1930 in Tylorstown, South Wales. Mom came to Canada in 1952 and married Dad shortly thereafter. Mom was well travelled and spent many years public speaking throughout Canada and the United States. She had many talents including a stellar grasp of the English language and exceptional writing skills. She conveyed her gift of writing and communication through various venues including articles and public speeches which she often wrote for others. Most noteworthy, in 2005, she published a book based on her life entitled, A Girl from the Valley . Mom taught a weekly bible study group for 15 years and enjoyed both the learning and laughter with women who faithfully attended. Over the years, both Mom and Dad developed lifelong friendships with individuals from Bethesda Church, St. Charles Country Club and Twin Beaches. Mom enjoyed her time at the lake and spent most evenings visiting with Dad while reading, writing and enjoying a cup of tea. Mom also volunteered her time and beauty as a model in a fundraising calendar entitled, Beauty is Timeless for the St. James Assiniboia Seniors Centre. She was proud to have been part of this fundraiser and tenaciously promoted the sale of many calendars. Mom was a beautiful and genuinely kind individual who remained positive even in times of duress. She embraced life to the fullest and influenced others with her optimism wherever she travelled. The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff on 3 North at the Grace Hospital. A graveside interment will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the lives of both Gwyneth and Mervyn. Refreshments and a brief reception will take place in the Funeral Home following the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mom's name, to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or www.alzheimer.ca And if I go, while you're still here - know that I live on, vibrating to a different measure, behind a thin veil you cannot see through. You will not see me, so you must have faith. I wait for the time when we can soar together again - both aware of each other. Until then, live your life to its fullest and when you need me, just whisper my name in your heart...I will be there.
