Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM CHARLES LONG September 12, 1923 - October 21, 2011 After a brief illness Dad passed away at the Grace Hospital. Left to mourn are his daughter Cindy (Dave), granddaughter Kaleigh (Colin) and Lauren, his second wife Mary and her family. Dad was predeceased by his first wife Mary in 1982. Dad was born and raised in Winnipeg. He lived in St. James his entire adult life. Dad was employed by C.N.R. as an installation inspector for telecommunications. He held this position until retirement. Dad had many interests throughout his life. He loved reading and books. He enjoyed music, playing trombone in the Khartum Temple Band, which was a childhood interest - he had played in the Salvation Army band as a child. He had an interest in rock collecting and as a hobby made jewelry. Dad also served as president of Winnipeg Gun Club many years ago, and was an official in the 1967 Pan Am Games because of this. Dad served in the Air Force and spent some time overseas in the Second World War. A private family service will be held. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715
