CECILIA SHIRLEY VERONICA FERNANDES (nee MOONSAMMY) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, Cecilia Shirley Veronica Fernandes, on Monday, October 31, 2011 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 67 years. Left to cherish her memory is Cecilia's husband Douglas S. Fernandes; children Leon (Nicole) Fernandes, Jennifer (Mario) Seievwright, Sharron (Joseph) Hoskins, Alex (Cindy) Fernandes and Damien (Jodi) Fernandes; grandchildren Bria, Braeden, Fabion, Brittney, Evan, Erika, Matthew, Danielle, Nicholas and Marley. She is also survived by her brothers David Moonsammy, Compton Moonsammy (Bibi) and Neville Moonsammy (Rani). Cecilia is predeceased by her parents Basdeo and Theresa Moonsammy of Guyana; and her brothers Joseph Moonsammy, Alfred Moonsammy, Patrick Moonsammy and Cecil Moonsammy. Cecilia worked as a L.P.N. at Beacon Hill Lodge and later on as a home care provider. She enjoyed travelling to New York and London, England to visit with family and friends. Cecilia was notorious for her shopping sprees to Grand Forks and Fargo. She was also known for her elaborate family dinners. Everyone who knew her knew how important family was to her. Recently Cecilia had celebrated her 50th Wedding Anniversary. The family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare, St. Boniface Hospital, and Palliative Care. A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at St. Joseph The Worker Parish, 505 Brewster Street with viewing at 12:00 p.m. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
