BLAKE MCMURRAY It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of (David) Blake McMurray on October 30, 2011 at the age of 51. Blake was survived by his mother Lois, his siblings Mark (Terri, Linsday, Landon, Lorne), Meaghan (Shayla), Glenna (Ian, Derek, Karen) and Gail, and his love Lynn. He was predeceased by his father Percy and his brothers Allan and Dennis. Blake was born in Snow Lake, MB and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 17 where he finished his final year of high school at Sturgeon Creek. After he graduated, he quickly moved into a managerial position at Goodyear, where he worked for many years. Blake was wild and fearless in his youth he loved fast cars, new wave music and living on the edge. But he mellowed with age and ultimately led a very humble life, spending many hours reading and walking. Blake loved his family dearly and was particularly close to his mother and his brother Mark. He loved to swim and spent many joyful hours soaking up the sun at Mark's pool. Blake was an avid curler in his youth and remained a devoted fan throughout his life. He had a gentle soul, a marvelous sense of humour and an especially endearing chuckle. He will be missed enormously by his family, friends and loved ones. Rest in peace Blake. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Siloam Mission (300 Princess St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3).
