JOSEPH DRABIK Peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2011 Joseph passed away at the Golden Links Lodge. He was 99 years old and was looking forward to his 100th in March 2012. He was predeceased by his wife Kay in 2005 after 63 years of marriage, his sister Ad Lobay, his three brothers, Frank, Ted and Stan. He is survived by his loving family, daughter Barbara Dunn (Blake), granddaughters Karen Bartlett (Ray), Jacqueline Brisley (Ian) and his great-grandson Ryan Bartlett. Also two sisters Vi MacLachlan and Helen Mitchell along with many nieces and nephews. Born in Winnipeg in 1912, he lived all of his life here working for Lighting Materials until age 60 and Claude Neon until age 68. He enjoyed fishing with Mom at Selkirk and anywhere else he could drop his line, always taking along the dogs. Joseph's family is very grateful for the excellent home the staff provided for him. He always enjoyed the musical entertainment and Colin always got him in the front row. He also enjoyed Virginia's piano playing every Monday morning and the Men's Luncheon Club for fried chicken. The whole family will miss his sense of humour which he still had til the end and his cheerfulness when anyone visited. He was a very nice man and a good Dad, Grandpa and Great-grandpa. We will all miss you! Love you Dad. A reception will be held at the Holiday Inn Pembina Highway and McGillivary Blvd., Sunday, November 13 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire donations to the care home to be used for musical entertainment would be appreciated.
