ARTHENA MARIE HOWELL July 27, 1935 - November 2, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Arthena Marie Howell, with her husband by her side, on November 2, 2011. Arthena was born July 27, 1935 in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. She moved with her family to Winnipeg in 1979 where she lived the remainder of her life. She will be greatly missed by her husband William, of 56 years and her seven children: Thomas (Christine), John (Lynn), Fred, Gordon (Cindy), George (Jo-Anne), Anne (John) and Mary (Phil), along with 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Arthena devoted much of her time loving her family, giving us all encouragement, hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Her sense of humour, gentle smile and loving heart will always be missed. The family would like to thank the staff of Concordia Hospital for the excellent care they provided. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Highway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arthena's memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
