Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN ALBERT ANDERSON October 7, 1927 - October 29, 2011 In the early hours of Saturday, October 29, 2011 our beloved husband and father, Norman Anderson, passed away with his daughter Donna and son Gary at his side. Dad was born and raised in Elmwood, the son of the late Martha and Clarence Anderson. He was predeceased by his brother Wilfred and sister Thelma (Birdie). Survived by his wife of 63 years, Anne (Lupky); children Linda (Ray) Fontaine, Donna (Brian) Shymko, Gary, Kim (Graham) Moir; seven grandchildren Monique (Bob), Janine (Stephen), Clint (Christine), Ryan (Pam), Geoffery (Jasmine), Lauricia (Garrett) and Denny, and nine great-grandchildren. Dad has left a whole new generation behind to continue the Anderson name. A railroader for 35 years with the C.N.R., he was a jack of all trades and a reliable employee. He enjoyed his job and all his co-workers throughout these years. He managed and played hockey with the C.N. hockey team for many years. The Winnipeg Jets were his team, Bobby Hull was his number one player. He was thrilled at hearing of their return to Winnipeg. Dad was a very outgoing, friendly person and a great story teller. When he retired he became the neighbourhood handyman and grass cutter. He worked at the Garden City Inn for a few years as maintenance and security, then bought a hobby farm and had some horses which he loved dearly. Dogs were his best friends. He became a woodworker and everyone owned at least one of his birdhouses or picnic tables. The last three and one half years Dad's home has been at River East Personal Care Home where he was cared for with respect and gentleness. Evelyn, thank you for the twinkle you put in Dad's blue eyes when things were going tough for him. He truly was grateful for your caring ways. We will miss his cheeky smile and wicked sense of humour. God has you in His hands, We have you in our hearts. Rest in peace Ducky Dad has been cremated and a family memorial will be held at a later date. Voyage Funeral Home in charge of arrangements - Thanks Mike. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Courage Bay River East Personal Care Home, 1375 Molson St., Winnipeg, MB R2K 4K8.
