At 15 years of age, he started his meat cutting career at the North Star Creamery in Arborg. He purchased Fiskilaek in 1966 where he took pride in producing bumper crops. In 1983, he moved his meat cutting business home and proudly opened Kris's Meats. Kris was known for his award winning curing and smoking.
