Dolly is survived by her only child, Diana (husband Robert Stevan); grandchildren Karen Stevan Marshall (John) and Robyn Stevan Matamoros (Diego), and great-grandchildren, Michael Stevantoni, Chloe and Mimi Matamoros. Dolly was predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, Peter Klewchuk; brothers Egnot, Harry, and Michael. She also leaves behind nieces, including Nina Mazurek, a great support during her golden years. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 10 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 820 Burrows Ave., with Rev. Fr. A. Harkavy officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. Born in Volhynia, Ukraine, August 5, 1915, Dolly came to Canada in 1929. She excelled at the household arts, but also worked at Weston Packers, city markets on Main Street, and later as a landlady of a large rooming house. She loved going to the cottage at Lakeshore Heights with her husband and family, travelling, playing whist and going to the casino. But most of all she loved her family. She was generous in every way; encouraging their education and taking them to Ukraine to see her birthplace. A great storyteller, her anecdotes will live on. The family extends a special thank you to the staff and sisters at Holy Family Home for their outstanding care and compassion. Vichnaya Pamyat - May she rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2W 1T9, (204) 589-7381.
