JEANNETTE JOHNSON Peacefully, with family by her side, Jeanette passed away on November 1, 2011 at Victoria General Hospital at the age of 86 years. Jeanette is predeceased by her children (triplets) Kandy (2010), Kim (1962) and John (1960). Left to cherish Jeannette's memory is her husband of 70 years Leroy; children Donald, Darlene, Van (Claudette), Bonnie (Alain), Lloyd (Colleen), Robin (Luigi), Leroy (Jr.) (Karen), Toby (Luc), Kelly (Randy) and Tracey (Tom); grandchildren Debbie, Kristi, Corey, Bradley, Billy, Fawna, Michelle, Julie, Van (Jr.), Robin, Shawn, Shannon, Tammy, Nina, Kadin, Kayli, Arlene, Jeron, Jess, Leif, Fayth and Austin; and her 20 great-grandchildren. Mom, as a pretty little French girl met our father and they began a married life lasting over 70 years. Together they raised 13 children, including a set of triplets. In 1960, she made her celebrity debut' as she was featured on CBC for giving birth to the first set of triplets in southern Manitoba. Grandma lived most of her life for her kids and grandkids. Grandma has left an amazing legacy behind. She had so many loving grandchildren that she taught how to knit, cook, and most of all showed all her grandkids about love and caring. All of her grandchildren and great- grandchildren knew how very special they were to her. Her life was really her family! Laughter was a very important part of her life as well; she was always eager to hear about her children's adventures and loved a good joke. She loved watching Seinfeld, Golden Girls, Coronation Street and Y R. She had a great sense of humour. In all of her 86 years she lived a full life and never stopped! A celebration of Jeannette's life will be held Monday, November 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Victoria General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • This lovely lady was my aunt and Theresa Sward's sister. She had 13 beautiful children and loved them all. She took care of their farm helping my uncle and was always special to me. The two sisters' Grandfather Rouillard owned Hugh John McDonald House and converted into a rooming house. Auntie Jeanette and my mom Theresa visited their grandfather at the house along with their children. They never forgot their French heritage. Always in my thoughts.
