RETA ALENA VEREN (nee LOCK) Peacefully, after a short illness on November 1, 2011, Reta Alena Veren passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 78 years. She is fondly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Victor; her daughters Victoria Adams (George); Bette Nabozniak (John); Janyce Ciereszko (Jim); her son Robert (Donna); grandchildren George, Aranda, Lynda, Daniel, Jorey, Jalissa; her sister Yvonne Legault and brother James Lock (Rose), plus numerous family and friends in Canada and Slovenia. Reta was born in Carlyle, SK in 1933. Her younger years were spent in Ninette, MB, moving to Winnipeg as a young adult where she met and married Victor in 1957. She spent her life dedicated to the raising and care of her family and friends. She was an active member of many committees and organizations and served as a church secretary for the First English Lutheran Church in the 1980s. A celebration of Reta's life will be held on Monday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB.
