ERNEST WILLIAM WERNER On Friday, November 4, 2011, at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at 96 years of age. Ernie was predeceased by his wife, Adele, of 46 years; and his second wife, Emily, of 10 years; his son, Walter; and granddaughter, Shelley; his brothers Louis and Harold; sisters, Elsie, Martha and Hilda. Leaving to cherish his memory his daughter Charlotte Lolly (Ray) Shaw; his son Eric (Joan); and his daughter-in-law Joan. His grandchildren, Susan (Lloyd) Werner Jensen; Sandy Lane; Vickie (Greg) Welicko; Connie (John) Atamanchuk; Christine (Bryan) Lodge; and Douglas; great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Kyle, B.J., Haley, Macey, Kayla, Michael, Kerri, Carley, and Douglas Jr; as well as, a very dear friend, Lilly, and her family. Thank you Lilly for all the compassionate care you have given Dad these last difficult years. Ernie was born in Germany in 1915 and immigrated to Canada at the age of 13 and settled in Ochre River, Manitoba, where he worked on the family farm. He worked at the Manitoba Sausage, then the Malgram Implements, and Allied Farm Equipment. He lived in Winnipeg, and he moved to his Lee River cottage at the age of 60 and worked at the mine, and built docks for many years. He enjoyed going to his cottage with his family and friends; hunting, fishing, and family gatherings were very important to him. He was very active at the Pioneer Club in Lac du Bonnet, until the age of 92. He was a skip in floor curling and also loved square dancing, or dancing of any kind. Ernie was a very gentle and happy man. We would like to thank the staff at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home for their ongoing compassionate care; it was greatly appreciated. Flowers gratefully declined, donations in Ernie's name can be made to the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home, P.O. Box 1030 Lac du Bonnet, MB, R0E 1A0. Funeral will be held at Klassen Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 9 at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Douglas, Greg, Johnny, Bryan, Kyle, and B.J.
